Registering for an SSS online account is difficult especially when you are directed to this page, which will ask you to select one of the registration options.

In this post, I will explain the 5 options in simple terms. Understanding each of the options will guide you to choose what is the right one for you.

How do the registration options work?

The options are information that is linked to your SSS records. To register, you must choose one of the choices.

When the system receives your online member registration form, it will check the information you encoded from their archive.

If the information is not consistent or is not found on your SSS records, the system will reject your online application.

TIP:

To avoid delay, choose the option that you think you have the correct information. Otherwise, you have to repeat the process.

What are the 5 options?

1. Bank Account Number / UMID ATM Account Number registered in SSS

You need to have your bank account number or UMID card registered as an ATM account number to use this option.

2. Mobile number registered in SSS

To use your mobile number to register, you must link this to your SSS records.

3. UMID card number

If you opt for UMID Card Number to register, you should have your UMID Card number ready.

4. Employer ID Number

Option Number 4 is for the employed members, whether in the formal or informal sector. So, if you are one, this is the best option for you.

5. Payment Reference Number (PRN) / Special Bank Receipt Number (SBR) / Payment Receipt Transaction Number (PRTN)

The PRN / SBR / PRTN is the number written on the topmost right portion of the receipt you get when paying for your contributions.

You may use Option Number 5 if you are a self-employed member.

Final Thoughts

By reading up to this point, you may have already chosen the option that works for you.

Access the SSS website now and get your online account registered fast.

Enjoy the convenience of getting your SSS transactions in the comforts of your homes or offices 24/7.

How much is the SSS Unemployment Benefit?

The country’s pension fund, the Social Security System (SSS) grants all qualified members an amount that is equivalent to twice the half of the member’s average monthly salary credit up to the maximum amount of P20,000.00

Who are qualified to avail?

Employees, including kasambahays and Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs) - sea-based and land-based are qualified to apply if the involuntary separation from work is due to the following:

1. Retrenchment / Downsizing / Redundancy

2. Closure or cessation of operation

3. Installation of labor-saving devices

4. Natural or man-made calamities

5. Illness / Threatening disease

 Additional Qualifying Conditions:

1. Member should not be over 60 years old at the time of involuntary separation;

2. Members must have paid at least 36 monthly contributions, 12 months of which should be in the 18-month period before the month of involuntary separation

3. No record of claimed unemployment insurance for the last 3 years from the date of involuntary separation.

What are the three easy steps?

1. Secure the following documents:

    • Notice of Termination of Employment issued by the employer or duly notarized Affidavit of Termination of Employment
2.  Access your SSS Online account and click "E-services" button from the main menu and "Apply for Unemployment Benefit" afterward;

3.  Wait for the SSS email advising you to submit the DOLE certification and Notice of Termination of Employment by replying to the email and attaching the documents.

You will receive this email as proof that you successfully encoded your application correctly and received by SSS accordingly

TIPS:

1. For faster approval, make sure that all the information written for both the documents and the online information is the same, especially for the date and reason for separation.

2. Do not apply more than three times, if your applications were rejected for two consecutive tries so that SSS will not stop your account from applying again.  Always double-check all the information before hitting the "submit" button.

Final Thoughts

We have so many things to be thankful for despite the many not-so-nice things happening around us.

The Social Security System is slowly becoming a digital giant. It is now easy for us to transact our business within the comfort of our homes.

Remember, the SSS Unemployment Benefit is not a loan, it is a cash grant that you can get from SSS if you are eligible. You do not need to pay it even if you will find a new job.

My Five Faves from Uniqlo’s 2020 Fall/Winter Collection

Thursday, August 27, 2020

Look what I’ve got.

The Uniqlo’s 2020 Fall/Winter Collection online launched was recently held and I had the opportunity to watch it.

This season's theme is anchored on the concept of Sustainable Cities, which aims to provide solutions to the problem of urban living for a sustainable tomorrow.

FIVE FAVES

These are my favorites from the new collection.

1. Airism Polo Shirt

The weather in the Philippines is unpredictable because of climate change. So, wearing an Airism Polo Shirt will save the day.

The Airism shirt has a unique microclimate technology that controls temperature, humidity, and airflow between your skin and the fabric, making you comfortable regardless of the outside condition.

Thus, you will perspire less, especially during very hot days.

2. Dry-Ex Crew Neck Short Sleeve T-Shirt

This simple and versatile piece is perfect for everyday wear. It has an ultra-quick drying functionality that provides comfort for those who want to stay healthy and active at home or outdoors.

Plus, they are available in basic colors like blue, gray, or white which you can pair with any shorts or pants.

I got an older version of this shirt, the Dry Crew Neck Short Sleeve Shirt. I had 3 colors, which I use when attending to our cafe shop business or making errands to the malls or banks.

3. Dry Pique Polo Shirt

Uniqlo’s shirts are made with functionality and design that can be used for everyday wear. If you are on the thin side, you can safely layer the shirt with a hoodie or blouson.

I like the shirt because of its soft texture. It comes in different plain colors which you can mix-match with your existing pants or chinos,

4. Brush Cotton Zipped Blouson

This is one of the nice-looking outer garments from the collection, that is perfect to strut in a casual or business occasion.

It comes in basic colors which you can easily paired with a plain T-shirt or polo shirt.

This ensemble - orange Dry Pique Polo Shirt and dark-colored Brush Cotton Zipped Blouson is great for work wear or as get-up when hanging out with friends after a long day.

5. Dry Stretch Sweat Full-Zipped Hoodie

It is time to update your wardrobe and stock up on warm clothing materials. Christmas is around the corner and the temperature can be erratic.

Wearing this piece will guarantee your comfort in any occasion because it has a soft fabric. Its quick sweat-absorbing functionality is a plus, too.

Final Thoughts

Uniqlo’s lifewear products are constantly innovated with the consumers’ changing lifestyles and preferences as the basis for producing better designs and comfort.

I've listed my favorites. Now, it is time for you to do the same, too.

I am sure you are excited to find out more about this new collection. Please check out Uniqlo’s website here:  https://www.uniqlo.com/ph/en/ or download the Uniqlo app.

Happy shopping.

LOOK: Shop's Mechanic Uses Owner's TOYOTA SUV to Buy Spare Parts

Tuesday, August 25, 2020

This is a warning to all car owners: NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR UNDER REPAIR TO YOUR CAR’S AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER (CASA).

On August 24, 2020, Tey Usis posted on his Facebook account, his experience bringing his Toyota Prado for repair to the Toyota DasmariƱas Cavite.

Usis wrote that he brought the vehicle for repair on August 20,2020. Three days later, he was informed that his car is not yet ready for release due to the unavailability of spare parts.

On August 24, 2020, he was surprised to see his car on the road. He decided to tail it until it stopped to a local auto supply store, which was approximately 6.4 kilometers away from the Toyota machine shop.

The Toyota SUV brought for repair was seen by the car's owner on the road,
driven by someone to procure the materials for his car.

It turned out, according to Usis, the vehicle which was driven by, presumably a Toyota employee because he was wearing the company’s uniform, was used to buy for the missing parts.

At the end of his post, he pointed out two issues:

        1. Toyota is using a client’s car to buy car parts.

        2. Toyota is using spare parts from unknown sources.

The white SUV stopped at a local motor supply store, 6.4 kilometers away
 from the car's machine shop

His Facebook post gathered mixed reactions from netizens.

Some commenters related that they were already familiar with this practice a long time ago. So that they resolved not to bring their cars to the casa when it requires repair.

Others go to the extent of suggesting that Usis file a carnapping case, then ask for damages so that his car will be paid in full if this under bank financing.

As of this writing, the post has generated more than seven thousand reactions and more than eight thousand shares.

Do you have similar experience?  Please reply in the Comment Section below.  I am sure most of us would like to know if this is a prevalent practice.
