Takoyaki, a Japanese dish has become popular in the Philippines. That is why it is a common sight in major malls and department stores nationwide. Basically, takoyaki is ball-shaped wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special molded pan. It is stuffed with slices of octopus, tempura scraps and seasonings.
